AT&T outage |
Well I got AT&T U-verse service installed last September. It was hit and miss service for a while. I had the technician out to the house and they would do things like change change connectors or wires. At time the service was better than others and we lived with it for a while.
December is when things finally started to go south. The internet and TV would just stop working for minutes at a time. And then Around January 20th the service stopped working all together. We called for service and people would come out but not fix the problem. The would tell me things like a line tech would need to come do some work. The line tech would tell me that a house tech needed to do some work. Well on Jan 31 I had had enough.
I called the 800 number several times and would not go away until they got in touch with someone that would take ownership of the problem. While he did not do a good job of communicating with me about what they were doing and when they would have service restored, He did finally call the correct people and the service is working again.
I then took time to talk with customer retention and 45 minutes later I had two month's of service credited back to my account.
The only reason I stuck with them so long and will not change companies is that all the other companies require a two year contract. With such poor customer service in the industry I know why they require a contract. |

ATT call |
This Saturday AT&T is scheduled to install my new U-verse service. I received a call from AT&T today. The call was an automated voice which I do hate but it was to confirm the installation date and time of the install. It is nice to know that they think they are going to be at my house.
The only time I ever received a call from Comcast about a service person was when they had missed their service window. Because they missed their time slot I missed hours from work and that cost me real money. Comcast has still not offered to pay me for the missed time because of their mistake. I wonder what they will offer when I call to cancel service. |

Well after my last blog entry... Comcast finally called me. They wanted to know what they could do to keep my business.
I told them that because of an error on their part I had to take a half day off work so I could sit at home and wait on them. They were not willing to pay me for that time. I also asked to be given the free month of service that I was told I would get and never did. I will now wait and see if I ever get the free service.
ATT is still scheduled to install the Uverse service Aug 29. Lets hope that the install goes better than my first month of service from comcast. |

I have been dealing with Comcast and the poor service for a couple of years now. The other day I had an ATT rep knock on my door and talk to me about their Uverse service. On the 29th of this month I am going to switch from Comcast to ATT.
OK Comcast you are on the clock.... I do not want to hear about what you will do for me when I call to cancel. I have called you many times about these problems so now it is your turn to call me. You now have two weeks to get get me the credit that you owe me. Fix the channels that hang and fix the box that can be so loud that I can not sleep in the room with it. |
